small space living

I'm excited to share this design board that I've had the opportunity to work on. The apartment is located downtown, so we didn't have a lot of space to work with. Living in a few small spaces myself, I know you have to get creative with design to make it stylish and functional. It's a little challenging, but it can be done!
In this particular apartment there isn't enough space for a dining area or accent chairs, so we have decided on a console that will go against the wall with coral ikat x-benches that will nest underneath. This provides an area that functions as a bar, dining table, and extra seating in one small space. The coffee table also provides additional storage without taking up any extra room. I'm sort of in love with this design and now I want it in my own home!

living room sneak peek

As promised, here is a little sneak peak into our new living room. A lot has stayed the same, but I've also switched quite a few things up. It's not quite finished - we're still waiting on drapes and artwork to arrive, but it should be done by the end of the month when I will share more pictures.
I thought things would be moving a lot more quickly since we already have all of our furniture and most of our accessories, but I'm finding we still have a lot left to buy to get things the way I want them. I'm trying not to rush and buy things just to be finished, and I'm making sure I really love something before forking over the cash. Our current garage full of furniture we're not using is my motivation, as I am guilty of doing this in our last apartment!
Also, can you tell I have a black thumb? I can't keep a plant alive to save my life. I stopped by Home Depot this morning to change these out, we'll see how long they last before they become the most recent victims of my lack of plant care skills.

ceiling fans in the bedroom

In my last post I mentioned that we'll be able to choose the lighting in our bedrooms. I've always lived with the generic fans that they put in apartments, so I was excited to get to choose our own this time. We like to keep our room cool at night so for our master bedroom a ceiling fan is really the only option, and during the summer in Texas, it's almost a necessity.  After looking around I'm realizing there are a lot of seriously ugly fans out there, and almost every single one of my bedroom inspiration images shows a pretty chandelier in the bedroom, so they aren't much help. After searching for quite some time I finally came up with these images that show you can have a fan and a pretty bedroom!
I've narrowed it down to my six favorites, but I'm leaning towards either number three or number six the most.

Do any of you know a good source for pretty ceiling fans? I'd love to take a look!
