Here are a few pictures from our recent trip to Colorado. We took over 700 pictures, so there are much more to come!
Our first stop for lunch and beers with a Denver view.
Great Divide Brewery for a tour and more brewskies.
No one told me I'd literally have to climb a mountain to get to Red Rocks. I did not dress for the occasion (my feet still hurt), but the view from our seats was amazing and totally worth it. Here we are stopping for a breather because I was not used to the high altitude at this point.
We finally made it to our seriously BA seats.
The next day at Garden of the Gods.
We got to pet and feed these giraffes at the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo.
At the summit of Pike's Peak.
Carbo loading at the summit. These were featured on the Food Network, so naturally we had to.
We found a penny arcade on our way to dinner in Manitou Springs
I love a good fat mirror.
Our final day, eating lunch at High Mountain Pies
Scenic train ride through the mountains in Leadville.
I was too distressed to take a picture of this... but our rental car died. dead. in the middle of an intersection while we were trying to make it back to the airport. After waiting 20 minutes (yes, it's true) for the police to arrive to help us push our car out of the way, and another 15 minutes on hold with our rental companies emergency roadside assistance we road back to the airport in a freaking tow truck. All 45 minutes of it I was snuggled in between Charlie and my new tow truck friend. We arrived at the airport 5 minutes before boarding time, and the gate lady was kind enough to print out our tickets so we made a run for it. We sprinted to security, which was cray due to labor day weekend, but we were luckily able to get through the priority line and onto the plane (a hot, sweaty mess) 10 minutes before takeoff. What a way to end the trip!
