I'm baaack! You may remember during the last One Room Challenge my husband and I took on a DIY gut renovation of our master bathroom (you can see where we started here), but weren’t able to get anywhere close to finishing in time for the reveal. While I originally had another project in mind for this challenge, I decided this would be the perfect opportunity to give us the push we needed to finish. So welcome to our One Room Challenge: Part Two!
Here is the current state of our master bathroom:
Taking out the soffit and creating two knee walls completely opened up the space. After all of the plumbing was completed the shower got framed, the pan liner was placed, shower pan poured, walls and pipes insulated, and concrete board installed. All we have left here is some waterproofing and the tile before we call in our plumber to put the finishing touches in the shower.
We finally got the drywall up, mudded, and painted which allowed us to put up our new sconces. Next up is the mirror, vanity and countertop installation, and then we'll have our plumber out to put in the new faucet.
In this corner we replaced the toilet and took out the cabinet that we'll be replacing with two open shelves for extra storage.
Here is what we have left on our list:
waterproof shower walls
finish tiling floor/shower floor
tile shower walls and niche
paint touch-ups
install baseboards and trim
install crown moulding
install open shelving
install vanity
install marble countertop
plumbing fixtures for shower and vanity
shower glass enclosure
put up new mirror
new roman shade for window
artwork and styling
You can catch up on the whole project by looking at week 1, week 2, week 3, and week 4 from the last challenge. I'm also sharing progress on instagram and behind the scenes on snapchat (scg_interiors)!
I want to give a huge thank you to Linda at Calling it Home, because without these challenges I'm 100% sure that we would never get any of the large projects in our house completed! Make sure to check out both the Wednesday and Thursday participants to see all the other fabulous projects that bloggers are creating!
