the best affordable art sources

I recently went on the hunt for some affordable art to complete one client's dining room and another potential client's master bedroom and bathroom, and in the process I ended up stumbling upon so many great pieces that I just had to share with you guys. It is so difficult to find unique art that is high quality and doesn't cost a ton of money. A lot of these pieces come framed, which is a major bonus since it can easily cost the price of the art just for custom framing!

Not all of these made the cut for these particular designs, but I think they are all lovely, and some of these babies are even making their way into our home!

project update: kitchen remodel

I last updated you on our kitchen back in June when it was still a hot mess. We are mostly finished with the first round of kitchen renovations, so I figured it was time to share some pictures!

After two months of waiting, our pantry door finally arrived. You can see how we updated and organized our pantry in this post.

I still need to paint underneath the cabinets where we removed some fluorescent lighting. I've been avoiding this because it is caked in grout from the tile we removed!

Our first DIY plumbing project was installing this faucet. I'm happy to report it was a success!

Still on our to-do list:

- update flooring

- new windows

- paint underside of cabinets where we removed lighting

- remove stick-on toe kick, replace with wood, paint to match cabinets

- remove blinds above sink window and replace with roman shade

- hanging plants in window above sink

- baseboards in pantry

- built-in island when we replace flooring

- create breakfast nook (post on this coming soon!)

And just in case you need a reminder... this is where we started with this project!

I'll be back later this week talking about the specific updates we made and how we did them on a fairly small budget!

best ceiling fans under $200

Surprisingly, one of my most pinned posts is from when I was trying to decide on a ceiling fanfor our bedroom last year. I recently went through another ceiling fan search for our new home, and realized most of the ceiling fans I posted about are either no longer available or they are much higher in price from when I originally posted. Here is an updated list of my favorite ceiling fans under $200!
